Living in Denmark is tricky for internationals. Many rules are simply unspoken, many expectations never expressed.

But the Danes are quite proud of their culture, and believe there is a “right” way to do things – the Danish way.

On some level, many Danes believe that with enough time and education, every country will grow to be like Denmark.

The “How to Live in Denmark” podcast about Denmark uses light humor to reveal some of these unwritten rules. It talks about how to move to Denmark, how to find a job in Denmark, how to make friends with Danes and how to find a Danish romantic partner.

What’s the story behind the How to Live in Denmark podcast?

When Kay began the podcast, it was originally a way to practice her voiceover techniques. (Kay still works as a voiceover.)

However, the podcast took off, and became the basis for several books about Denmark and ultimately a series of keynote speeches and presentations about Denmark.

An experienced journalist who has worked for Dow Jones/The Wall Street Journal and CNN, Kay now travels around Denmark and Europe speaking on Danish culture and Scandinavian culture.
